I’m in my early sixties, and live in a cottage on the edge of farmland with my partner – now wife – of thirty years. We moved to the UK from Australia a couple of decades ago. 

I’ve had a varied career in academia, journalism, LGBTQ+ activism, and women’s refuges. Until recently, I was a counsellor and psychotherapist, supporting lesbians and other LGBTQ+ people to find their joy.

As I approached my sixtieth birthday, I hunted for images of older lesbians who were fierce, powerful, creative, loving and uncompromising.  I didn’t want to become invisible, and I needed a virtual tribe.

So I created Fierce Older Lesbians…
